Frank Snively (1937-2013)
If ever a man deserved the moniker “The Professor” it would be Frank. He had a remarkable range of knowledge and would drop into lecture mode at the slightest opportunity. It was widely understood that this was a more comfortable form of interaction for him than traditional conversation and Frank’s lectures were always delivered with a heavy dose of self-deprecating humor to help a listener avoid being overwhelmed. Even as his health began to fail, Frank put on a remarkable demonstration of what a real motorcyclist is, by heading out on multiple cross-country motorcycle journeys, solo, to attend rallies and visit friends, ostensibly, but really it was about The Road. The concept of this section, “Gone Riding”, was inspired by Frank Snively.
